Making my locations realistic
As well as having my locations which I want to include in my footage I need to edit certain aspects including colours, shadows and lighting to give the perfect settings for each scene.
After having a look at my possible locations I have taken to consider including in my film trailer I have noticed a few problems.
Some of the pictures I have included do not particularly match the mise of my horror film; a good example of this would be the picture I have taken of the bath. The bath is simply spotless, tidy and it isn't something you would see in a well established film like SAW. If I was to record my footage using these locations I would need to take a look into which could make my scenes suit the mise.

I have purposely edited the colours in these pictures to make them appear higher in blue and green colours, I have purposely done this due to the fact green and blues connote cold, chilling and bitterness. As well as editing the colours in a specific way I have altered the saturation in these pictures slightly lower, this gives the effect of a paler picture which is also highly effective in horror films since it gives a pale and lifeless feeling.

This is the final edited picture of the stairs, as you can see I have perfectly edited the picture using Photoshop to how I would like the scene look if this was to be real footage. I have focused with making the distance look dark and gloomy in this picture to give the effect that you cannot see into the dark distance, this is very effective due to the fact the audience doesn’t know what to expect.
If I was to improve this picture and make it more suitable to use as a location in my movie I would do a few things to add to the mise of my movie.
> Remove the painting and pictures at the top of the stairs; these simply do not fit well with the mise of the trailer.
> Remove the towel from the banister; this doesn’t fit well with the mise of the trailer.

This is the final edited picture of the bath, as you can see I have perfectly edited the picture using Photoshop to how I would like the scene look if this was to be real footage. I have tried to make the bath the main focus; I have blacked out most of the edges of this picture to make you feel some what limited, this makes the bath the main focus.
If I was to improve this picture and make it more suitable to use as a location in my movie I would do a few things to add to the mise of my movie.
> Add some way of making the bath look like it isn’t immaculate, perhaps get some tea bags to make the bath look as dirty as possible before filming.
> Using fake blood of some sort on the tiles would also be a great effect.
> Adding different objects around the bath area such a tools which would be used for building, this would give a strange effect and make the audience ask themselves questions as to why they were there.

> Make the bed look like it simply cannot be slept in, blood stain the bed covers and make the walls look dramatic and dirty as if someone has been murdered in the room.
